Tatarstan pharmaceutical industry issues discussed in Ministry

On April 7, the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Republic of Tatarstan hosted a working meeting devoted to the prospects and promotion of the pharmaceutical industry development in Tatarstan.

The invitees to the event include Director of the Semashko National Public Health Research Institute Ramil Khabriev, Director General of the Association of Russian Pharmaceutical Manufacturers Viktor Dmitriev, heads of Medical Development Agency (Moscow) and Advanced Trading (Moscow), who have extensive expertise and competence in the fields of pharmaceutical market regulation and production management. From the Republic of Tatarstan, the meeting was attended by heads of Innovation Park Idea, Tatneftekhiminvest-Holding, SEZ Innopolis, SEZ Alabuga, while the scientific environment was represented by heads of relevant structures at the Kazan Federal University.

The discussed issues were related to the identification of market niches, investor relation models, role of republic’s development institutions, opportunities of using the best international practices in pharmaceutical development, overcoming the dependence on primary material imports, optimal use of the republic's potential and competencies in the pharmaceutical sector. During the event, a number of further practical steps were outlined to develop the pharmaceutical sector in Tatarstan.

Minnikhanov: some 120,000 work in our mechanical engineering sector today

There are more than 3,000 mechanical engineering enterprises employing about 120,000 people in the republic today. Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov said this today in Naberezhnye Chelny at a ceremony dedicated to the Mechanical Engineer’s Day. Before the official ceremony, the President toured an exhibition of products manufactured by Tatarstan’s mechanical engineering companies. The exhibition displayed trucks, buses, tractors, electric cars, charging stations, gas turbine power plants, medical equipment, etc. Rustam Minnikhanov congratulated the industry workers on their professional holiday and stressed that despite all the difficulties, this year there has been a dynamic growth in the indicators of the enterprises. During the first seven months of 2021, products worth RUB 408 billion were shipped, which is 1.5 times higher than in 2019. Positive changes are shown both by large companies and midsize enterprises in small towns. The Tatarstan President also expressed gratitude to long-service workers of the sector, noting that many companies employ several generations of working families. Then, President Minnikhanov presented a number of Tatarstan awards for great contribution to the development of the mechanical engineering sector.

Minister Karimov met with students of KNRTU-KHTI

Today, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Industry and Trade of Tatarstan Albert Karimov held an open meeting with students of the Kazan National Research Technological University. During the event, Minister Karimov delivered a comprehensive speech on the topic “Tatarstan’s Manufacturing Industry as the Main Driver of Regional Economic Development”, during which he outlined the main achievements of industrial sectors in Tatarstan and spoke about the main achievements and trends in the republic’s manufacturing industry development. In his welcome address he pointed out that the main source of labour productivity is the transition to Industry 4.0, the industrial revolution based on massive implementation of information technologies. Today, a marking system is applied in production facilities that allows one to track the location of a product. There are examples of smart factories where machines communicate with each other via the internet and produce personalised products without human intervention.
