On March 31, the Lyceum with Extensive Learning of Chemistry for Gifted Children under the Kazan National Research Technological University (KNITU-KHTI) had an Open Day. More than 100 schoolchildren in Tatarstan (from Kazan, Zelenodolsk District, Naberezhnye Chelny and other cities and districts) took part in the first round of the competitive selection for the 2017-2018 schoolyear.
A presentation about the Lyceum was organised for parents in the assembly hall. Its Director Lilya Ilyasheva presented information about the rules of pupils’ competitive selection, life in the Lyceum, its internal code of conduct, and the prospects for further admission to the KNITU. Then Deputy Director for Academic Affairs Elvira Shaymukhametova introduced the Lyceum’s teaching staff, described the specifics of the curriculum, and as well as the achievements of the educational institution and its students.
A tour of the Lyceum was also organised for parents and schoolchildren. They were able to visit the Orbital Centre for Youth Innovation Creativity, specialised classes of Gazprom, Yokogawa, and Halder Topsoe companies, swimming pool, gym, Lyceum’s sleeping buildings, and its dining room.
