A delegation from the Belarusian Ministry of Defence headed by Deputy Defence Minister Igor Lotenkov visited today the premises of Kazan Helicopters (Russian Helicopters holding, part of Rostec Corporation). The official visit was timed to coincide with the completion of the contract for the supply of 12 Mi-8MTV-5 helicopters to the Belarusian Ministry of Defence. During the visit to the enterprise, the representatives of the Belarusian delegation learnt about the progress towards the delivery of the second batch of Mi-8MTV-5 helicopters and heard a report by the head of the Acceptance Board of the Belarusian Ministry of Defence on the progress of work to ensure the acceptance of the second batch.

Belarusian guests also visited the machining facilities of the Kazan Helicopters, which were the first to come under the company’s programme of renovation and technical re-equipment. Further, they were shown the sections for the staple and bench assembly of the units and fuselages for Mi-8/17, Ansat, and Mi-38 helicopters. In addition, they studied the large-series section in the final assembly shop for Mi-8MTV-1 and Mi-17V-5 helicopters and the small-series section for the assembly of Ansat helicopters. The delegation showed interest in these light multi-purpose helicopters.
