Today, Kazan saw the 26th session of the 5th Tatarstan State Council chaired by the head of the republic's parliament, Farid Mukhametshin. The event was attended by Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Industry and Trade of Tatarstan Albert Karimov.
On this day, the deputies considered 24 issues, including 11 republic’s drafts and 11 federal draft laws and initiatives. The main issue on the agenda was the report on the activities of the republic’s executive bodies in 2016 presented by Prime Minister of the Republic of Tatarstan Ildar Khalikov.
Tatarstan remains a leading region in key macroeconomic indicators. In terms of gross regional product, the republic ranks 6th among the regions of the Russian Federation, 3rd in agriculture and capital investment, and 5th in industrial production and construction industry. Over the past years, Tatarstan has been consistently among the most attractive regions for investment; for two consecutive years, it has headed the list of the Russian regions’ National Rating of Investment Climate developed by the Agency for Strategic Initiatives to Promote New Projects.
Deputies of the State Council of the Republic of Tatarstan approved the report of the Tatarstan Government presented by Tatarstan Prime Minister Ildar Khalikov.
