Issues of cooperation development between Tatarstan and Quebec considered by Tatarstan delegation

On 26 September 2016, Tatarstan Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Industry and Trade Albert Karimov participated in the meeting between Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov and Quebec Minister of Economy, Science and Innovation Dominique Anglade. The meeting was held at Bombardier and was attended by Aide to the Tatarstan President Radik Gimatdinov, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Russia to Canada Aleksandr Darchiyev, and others.

Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov emphasised that today Tatarstan is intensively working with Pratt&Wittney and Bombardier in aircraft industry and engine-building activities. Tatneft is cooperating with a number of Canada-based companies in the field of heavy oil production technology.

Rustam Minnikhanov noted that Tatarstan is interested in the expansion of relations with Quebec and prepared to support the businesses of this region that will come to Tatarstan with their technologies, capitals, and innovation projects. Quebec is well known in Tatarstan for its developed aircraft industry. There are a number of enterprises manufacturing airplanes and rotary-wing aircraft in Tatarstan. He kindly offered Dominique Anglade to arrange a visit of local aircraft industry representatives to Tatarstan for a further sharing of experiences in this field.
