On 26 September 2016, Tatarstan Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Industry and Trade Albert Karimov and representatives of Tatarstan aircraft manufacturers as a part of Tatarstan delegation headed by Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov made a tour of Pratt&Whitney and Bombardier facilities in Montreal.
Representatives of Tatarstan delegation were shown production facilities of the plant, including a workshop for engines’ pre-flight testing and the samples of final products.
During the tour of Bombardier facilities, top executives of Canada-based company made a presentation of their economic potential and shared their plans for further development of the production operations. They noted that to date the main task for the Canada-based aircraft company is to enter the market of medium-range aircraft. The market is still under total control of Boeing and Airbus. In turn, Bombardier is prepared to offer a medium-range CS100 jetliner with the capacity from 100 to 125 passengers and CS300 jetliner with the capacity from 120 to 145 passengers. According to representatives of the company, these models are more fuel efficient than their main competitors: aircraft consume almost 20% less fuel.
