On 21 December 2015, Kazan Thermal Power Station-1 OAO Generiryushchaya (Generating) Company held the ceremony of mounting a memorial plaque marking the beginning of construction of CCGT (combined cycle gas turbine) unit with the capacity of 230 MW. The ceremony was attended by Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov, Russian Deputy Minister of Energy Vyacheslav Kravchenko, Tatarstan Interim Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Industry and Trade Albert Karimov.
The power facility of the combined cycle gas turbine unit with the capacity of 230 MW at Kazan Thermal Power Station-1 is the first investment project in the power industry included in the federal “Program of support of investment projects implemented in the territory of the Russian Federation based on project financing”, which provides state guarantees and subsidized loans to projects with high socio-economic importance for the country.
Construction of a modern power plant at Kazan Thermal Power Station-1 with the capacity of 230 MW will reduce the shortage of electric power in Kazan power district, as well maximize the reliability of power supply.
