Prospects for cooperation development between Abkhazia and Tatarstan

On 23 July 2015 the meeting between Interim Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov and President of the Republic of Abkhazia Raul Khajimba was conducted. The meeting was attended by Chairman of the Tatarstan State Council Farid Mukhametshin, Tatarstan Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Industry and Trade Ravil Zaripov, Tatarstan Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Agriculture and Foodstuff Marat Akhmetov, Aide to the Tatarstan President Radik Gimatdinov, Deputy of the State Duma Fatikh Sibagatullin, and others. The parties discussed prospects for the cooperation development in a number of promising areas between Abkhazia and Tatarstan as one of the Russia’s regions.

Rustam Minnikhanov noted that interaction at the regional level will promote the strengthening of the relations between the countries. According to the Interim Tatarstan President, the most interesting areas for cooperation are construction, medicine, education, hydraulic power industry, and tourism.
