Yelabuga hosted celebrations of the 70th Anniversary of Great Victory

On 9 May 2015, Yelabuga hosted the celebrations of the Victory Day. The official event was opened with the stage performance ‘We are Descendants of the Great Victory’. Tatarstan Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Industry and Trade Ravil Zaripov, Head of Yelabuzhsky District Gennady Emelyanov and Chairman of Kazan Veteran Council Rakip Mubarakshin congratulated participants of the celebration event.

During the event, seven veterans from Yelabuga were awarded with ‘Recognition’ Badge of Honour for their outstanding contribution to military and patriotic education of youth.   

Museum of Memory opened in Yelabuga

Scenes of WWII and homefront everyday life were reconstructed at Shishkin Ponds.

Aleksandrovsky Park hosted the Ball of Homefront Workers with a brass band, and a concert by winners and participants of the District Review Contest ‘Native Village Sings’. Visitors could enjoy playground, sports ground, and amusement rides.

In the evening, Lenin Square hosted the gala concert by winners of the ‘Rainbow of Victory’ Folk Art Municipal Contest. The celebration ended in fireworks.
