All-Russian teleconference on rendering assistance to Ukrainian refugees

On 22 July 2014, Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev held an all-Russian teleconference on the issues of accommodation and provision of social amenities to persons compelled to leave Ukraine. The meeting was attended by Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov, heads of Tatarstan ministries and agencies. Dmitry Medvedev announced that as of today Russia accommodated 144,000 Ukrainian citizens who applied to the Federal Migration Service for a status not related with a work permit. The Prime Minister said that Russia currently deployed nearly 400 stationary points of temporary accommodation; they host 26,000 people including 10,000 children. The Russian government is taking a number of measures to support the regions in this respect. According to the Prime Minister, the federal budget allocated to date RUB 4.94 billion for funding the issues associated with refugees.
