Today, on 19 July 2016, the Kazan Kremlin hosted the meeting between Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov and Governor of Saint-Petersburg Georgy Poltavchenko. From the Tatarstan side, the meeting was attended by Chairman of the Tatarstan State Council Farid Mukhametshin, Tatarstan First Deputy Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin, Tatarstan Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade Almaz Khusainov, and other officials.
Prior to the meeting, Rustam Minnikhanov and Georgy Poltavchenko signed an Agreement on trade, economic, scientific, technology, social and cultural cooperation between the Government of Saint-Petersburg and the Republic of Tatarstan.
Among promising areas of cooperation, Tatarstan President mentioned the organisation of tourist exchange and interaction in culture and sport.
The Governor also noted the urgent character of expanding ties in the sphere of education.
Today, on 19 July 2016, the delegation from Saint-Petersburg headed by its Governor Georgy Poltavchenko arrived to Tatarstan.
He was welcomed in the Kazan International Airport by Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov, Tatarstan Acting Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin, Tatarstan Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade Almaz Khusainov and other officials.
During their stay in Kazan, the delegates from Saint-Petersburg will participate in the Interregional Forum on Cooperation between the Republic of Tatarstan and Saint-Petersburg (event venue: Korston Hotel&Mall) and networking activities.
Today, the Saydashev State Great Concert Hall will host the opening ceremony of the Days of Saint-Petersburg in the Republic of Tatarstan and the concert of performers from Saint-Petersburg.
Furthermore, the meeting between Georgy Poltavchenko and Rustam Minnikhanov is scheduled to be held in extended composition with the participation of delegates from Saint-Petersburg and representatives of the Tatarstan Government.

In Tatarstan, the index of industrial production constituted 103.2% after a six-month period compared to that of the previous year. That was announced today (on 15 July 2016) by Tatarstan Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Industry and Trade Albert Karimov in his interview to the Tatar-Inform Information Agency.
According to Albert Karimov, oil refining output in the republic is growing steadily. A total of 15-16 million tonnes of oil are being currently processed each year. By 2018, it is planned to increase the total output up to 22-23 million tonnes, said the Tatarstan Minister of Industry and Trade.

On 12 July 2016, Tatarstan Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Industry and Trade Albert Karimov made a report entitled “Unmanned Transport Vehicles as a Part of ‘Industry 4.0’” at the meeting of the Coordination Council for Industrial Sector under the Russian Ministry of Industry and Trade dedicated to “Industrial Internet Development in Russia”. The meeting was chaired by Russian Minister of Industry and Trade Denis Manturov.
