Within the framework of the Tatarstan Oil, Gas & Petrochemicals Forum, the Kazan National Research Technological University (KNRTU-KHTI) held a round table discussion entitled “Staffing and Engineering Support for Oil, Gas, and Chemical Facilities: Engineering Pedagogy Development Issues” and the annual International Research and Practice Networking Conference “Regional Development: New Challenges for Engineering Education. Synergy 2021”.

This is a traditional event in the field of engineering personnel training discussions, annually supported by such a large employer as Gazprom. The round table was moderated by Director of Institute of Additional Professional Education at KNRTU-KHTI Mansur Galikhanov. The session was attended by experts in the field of engineering education from Russia and foreign countries, such as President of the International Society for Engineering Pedagogy (IGIP) Hanno Hortsch, President of the Association for Engineering Education of Russia (AEER) Yury Pokholkov, etc.

As noted by Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade of Tatarstan Rodion Karpov, an important condition for modernisation and innovative development of the economy is its staffing. Enterprises all over Russia need young professionals who possess present-day knowledge, have the skills to apply this knowledge in their practical activities, and are motivated to self-development and achieving professional success.
