The Ministry of Industry and Trade of Tatarstan hosted the tenth meeting of the working group for cooperation between the Republic of Belarus and the Republic of Tatarstan today. The meeting was opened by Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Industry and Trade of Tatarstan Albert Karimov.
On behalf of the Republic of Belarus, the working group session was attended by head of the Kazan Office of the Belarus Embassy Viktor Shchetko, Chairman of the Belneftekhim Concern Andrey Rybakov, and others.
During the meeting, the parties discussed the cooperation between the Republic of Belarus and Tatarstan in the petrochemical sector and presented their proposals on the development of new areas of cooperation.
According to Minister Karimov, the foreign trade turnover between Belarus and Tatarstan in the first six months of 2021 amounted to $514.4 million, a 60 per cent increase compared to the previous year. Crude oil, oil products, and petrochemicals account for the bulk of the trade turnover.
