Russian Helicopters (part of Rostec Corporation) was visited by Russian Defence Minister Sergey Shoigu during his working trip to Kazan. The Defence Minister was accompanied by Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov.
The Tatarstan President and the Russian Defence Minister visited the aggregate assembly shop, the paint shop, and the main assembly shop. The guests were shown an upgraded version of the Mi-8MTV-5-1 helicopter in service with the Russian Army.
The company’s future plans include upgrade of the Mi-8/17 military transport helicopters. It is planned to improve the helicopters’ flight characteristics by using a new load-bearing system.
Sergey Shoigu was also informed about the production progress of one of the two Mi-38 helicopters previously ordered by the Russian Ministry of Defence. The contract to supply the rotorcrafts was signed during the Army 2021 International Military-Technical Forum.
Then, the Tatarstan President and the Russian Defence Minister had a meeting with Tatarstan’s participants in the contest entitled “Personnel for the Digital Industry. Creation of Completed Design and Development Solutions during Cyberdrome Contest”. In the contest, Tatarstan is represented by students of KNITU-KAI and the Innopolis University.
