Kazan Helicopters of the Russian Helicopters Holding Company (part of Rostec Corporation), jointly with Mecaer Aviation Group, have completed the first development stage of a noise reduction system for the Ansat helicopter. The new solution will provide an unprecedented level of in-flight comfort for passengers.
The noise reduction system is a sound absorbing panel that is installed between the fuselage structure and the ceiling panels. It is made of advanced soundproofing materials that provide best-in-class performance in terms of noise and weight. To further improve helicopter soundproofing in the VIP-configuration, the construction of interior panels was changed, and a special polymer composite is used for their manufacture, with high-performance sound absorbing elements glued in the layers.
“At MAKS 2021, we presented a sound-absorbing panel that will be used in the new noise reduction system on the Ansat-M helicopter. As a result of applying this solution, the noise level in the VIP configuration will be 75 dB", said Chief Designer of the Kazan Helicopters’ Design Bureau Aleksey Garipov.
After certification, the noise reduction system will be optionally installed on Ansat helicopters in passenger, medical, and VIP versions. The new equipment can also be used for helicopters in service. Advantages of the new system include no impact on cabin dimensions, easy installation and removal, and easy access for maintenance.
