An agreement of intent on the development of international container shipping was signed today between the Government of Tatarstan and Maersk Eastern Europe ApS.
The document was signed by Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov and Head of Maersk Eastern Europe ApS Zsolt Katona.
The signing ceremony took place during the meeting of Rustam Minnikhanov with Zsolt Katona.
The cooperation presupposes investments in the republic’s transport infrastructure, establishment of regular container routes between Tatarstan and Russia’s largest ports, connection of Tatarstan enterprises to Maersk’s global digital platforms for ordering and organising international shipments.
Maersk plans to launch regular container routes. It is expected that due to its significant economic potential and advantageous geographical location, Tatarstan can become an important centre for organising international container logistics in the Middle Volga region.
