AO Voronezhstalmost has completed the pilot project entitled “Improving Productivity at the Supporting Block Fabrication Stream” as a part of the Labour Productivity national project. Jointly with the Regional Competence Centre of the Voronezh Region and the Regional Competence Centre of Tatarstan, an assessment was carried out, during which the Supporting Block Fabrication Stream was recognised as a model stream.
Implementation of action plan on achieving the goal state allowed reaching really high results, namely: to reduce process running time by 19% from 44,265 to 35,942 minutes; to reduce in-process inventory from 2,194 tonnes to 1,970 tonnes; to increase production output from 7.97 to 8.76 tonnes/person/month. One of the important results is that it was possible to unite the team, which is aimed at replicating the successful experience in creating a model stream and a reference site using all the Lean Manufacturing tools.
Dmitry Sinyukov, Head of RCC Voronezh, and Shamil Bayramov, Head of RCC Tatarstan, visited the reference site, where they inspected the work results and discussed difficulties arising in the process of work on the project. “The global optimisation process is a long-term development strategy for the entire enterprise, which is sure to bring its benefits both in the internal process and in the competitive market,” Shamil Bayramov, head of RCC Tatarstan, said in conclusion.
