In Ankara, Tatarstan President Minnikhanov had a meeting with Mustafa Varank, Turkish Minister of Industry and Technology.

“The Republic of Tatarstan in the Russian Federation is very dear to our hearts. Based on our cultural and historical ties, we need to strengthen economic contacts. We can mutually increase investments in the economies of our countries,” the Minister said.

“Unfortunately, the current epidemiological situation in the world does not allow us to see each other more often. Let’s hope that joint efforts of the international community will finally overcome this problem in the near future,” the Tatarstan President said.

Rustam Minnikhanov also said that the Republic of Turkey is one of the leading foreign partners of Tatarstan. Last year’s trade turnover exceeded $360 million.

“We see great potential for cooperation between our Innopolis SEZ and your IT Valley. In addition, as you know, our leading companies operating in the petrochemicals and automotive industries show interest in implementing joint projects in Turkey,” Rustam Minnikhanov added.
