Repair-Mechanical Plant of Nizhnekamskneftekhim manufactures and repairs the capacitive heat-exchange equipment. Recently, the enterprise has summarised its first results of participation in the Labour Productivity national project. It was implemented with the support from experts of the Federal Competence Centre (FCC). Over 6 months of the project, the efficiency of employees increased by 50%.
According to Roman Batrasov, FCC project manager, the site optimised the process of manufacturing a part of the drying machine for rubber extraction, the worm shaft.
Production was delayed, for example, by running large batches of worm bushings, which led to waiting times, idle equipment, and schedule overruns. During the project, the minimum batch size was reduced to 6 pieces. In addition, the limiting equipment was previously out of action for up to 4 hours a week due to breakdowns. Now the number of stoppages due to breakdowns has been reduced to zero.
According to the plant director, the national project experience will be replicated in other production areas. These include improvements of work efficiency in the procurement department, design and engineering department, warehouse, etc.
It should be added that as of today 116 regional companies in Tatarstan have joined the implementation of the Labour Productivity national project. By 2024, this figure should increase to 249.
