TEF 2021. Day One: Youth Day

The Kazan State Power Engineering University took an active part in organising the Youth Day as part of the Tatarstan International Forum for Energy Efficiency and Ecology started on April 21 at the Kazan Expo International Exhibition Centre.

The target audience of the events on that day were university and high school students, young scientists and professionals, experts, leaders of energy companies, representatives of the academic community. Specialists from the energy industry, ministries, agencies, and professional communities acted as experts.

Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade of Tatarstan Marat Minibayev greeted the participants and guests of the Youth Day on behalf of the Tatarstan Government. He said that the energy sector of the Republic and Russia in general is going through a very interesting time: there is a transformation process underway. The Deputy Minister recalled that the industry is shifting from traditional forms of electricity and heat production to alternative forms: wind power and solar energy are being developed, and work on generating electricity through fusion is being intensively pursued.

The Youth Day included thematic workshops and contests for schoolchildren and students organised by KSPEU.

At the end of the forum’s Youth Day programme, an award ceremony was held for the winners of the “We Opt for Energy Efficiency 2021” contest of youth initiatives.
