Carrying out sectoral project to avoid unfair business conduct in markets

13 April 2021, Tuesday

Within the framework of implementing the sectoral project on avoiding unfair conduct in carrying out entrepreneurial activities in the markets, including compliance with the legislation of the Russian Federation on the application of cash register equipment, the tax authorities of Tatarstan carried out an inventorying of markets and trading areas located in Tatarstan.

The project aims to reduce the shadow turnover of retail markets and create an equal competitive business environment.

Consumer rights protection is also an integral part of the project. A cashier’s check is a document confirming the legality of sales. It makes it possible, if necessary, to file a claim for the sale of low-quality goods or services. Taxpayers who violate legislation on the use of cash registers will be subject to checks by tax authorities.

A working group has been set up under the auspices of the Federal Tax Service in Tatarstan to cooperate and resolve any issues arising in the course of the project.  On April 1, 2021, a regular meeting was held; the participants were informed that starting from April 1, 2021 inspections will start of entrepreneurs and organisations operating in markets and trade centres for the absence of violations of current legislation.
