IDF’s Expert Council approved loan for projects in Tatarstan

4 March 2021, Thursday

Tatarstan-based CF Kama will use a RUB 499 million federal-regional loan under the Components programme to launch the production of 12-speed Traxon automated transmissions for various transport applications with a payload ranging from 44 to 80 tonnes, such as long-haul trucks, distribution vehicles, buses, construction, municipal, and special-purpose vehicles. The product localisation will be 24%.

With the IDF loan, the KAMAZ Group enterprise will establish production of automatic transmissions and electric power steering, as well as cab suspension systems for new K5-series trucks, which will enable the production of competitive premium-class trucks in Russia.

Automatic transmissions and electric power steering will be supplied to MAZ-MAN, URAL, ISUZU, and some IDF borrowers, such as KAMAZ and RIAT. The cab suspension is designed and adapted specifically for KAMAZ K5-series trucks.

Production will be carried out under license from ZF Friedrichshafen AG, one of the global leaders in the design of automotive components and a founding member of the Russia’s ZF KAMA.

The project has a total budget of RUB 1.1 billion, of which RUB 499 million may be provided by the IDF as a soft loan.
