Karimov: Flexibility allowed companies to switch over to products in demand

Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Industry and Trade of Tatarstan Albert Karimov held a working meeting dedicated to 2020 results to combat the spread of the new coronavirus infection. The meeting was attended by representatives of republic’s ministries and agencies, heads of industrial enterprises and retail chains.

“Flexibility in the face of uncertainty has allowed enterprises of different industries to quickly and efficiently switch over to manufacture products that are in demand”, said the head of the Ministry of Industry and Trade of Tatarstan during his speech.

The operational headquarters for control over the rise in prices for socially significant food products, which incorporates the Ministry of Industry and Trade of Tatarstan, the Ministry of Agriculture and Foods of Tatarstan, the Tatarstan Office of the Federal Antimonopoly Service, the Prosecutor's Office of Tatarstan, the Kazan City Executive Committee and other republic’s ministries and agencies, are regularly monitoring retail prices for certain types of socially important foods.

The main tasks for the next year are maintaining the achieved rate of industrial production of personal protective equipment and raw materials for them, the readiness to respond quickly to emerging changes in the market situation, an increase in the volume of products for the population, medicine, and other spheres of activities, stabilisation of prices for food products of prime social importance, etc.

At the end of the meeting, Minister Karimov presented Letters of Gratitude and Certificates of Honour from the Ministry of Industry and Trade of Tatarstan.
