Energy hackathon

On December 24, an energy hackathon took place at the Kazan Energy College. The hackathon was held by the Youth Union of Enterprises and Organisations of Tatarstan and the Kazan Energy College with the support from the Foundation of Assistance to the Civil Society Development in the Volga Federal District.

The hackathon was held in 2 stages. At the correspondence stage, which took place from December 7 to December 16, a total of 38 projects were presented with the participation of 100 students and schoolchildren from the Kazan Energy College, Lyceum No. 5, School No. 42 of the Volga District of Kazan, Gymnasium No. 102, and Gymnasium No. 75. Ten teams made it to the final. On December 8, a consultation on writing projects was held for the participants.

The in-site stage took place on December 24, where the teams presented their signature shows and homework assignments. The participants prepared projects aimed at popularising blue-collar jobs in the power industry. They showed their projects as creative performances in the form of propaganda teams, panel games, video clips, presentations, and miniature models. The teams were judged by an award panel comprised of representatives from energy providers, educational institutions, and the Tatarstan Organisation of the All-Russian Electric Trade Union.

The winners were awarded with 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place certificates and gift vouchers in the amounts of RUB 2500, RUB 2000, and RUB 1500, respectively.
