Office of Tatarstan in Uzbekistan awarded winners of Tatarstan Flag contest

The Representative Office of Tatarstan in the Republic of Uzbekistan held an award ceremony for the winners of the creative online contest dedicated to the Flag Day of Tatarstan, as part of the celebrations of the 100th anniversary of the Tatar ASSR.

The event was attended by Representative of Tatarstan in the Republic of Uzbekistan Aydar Akhtareev, Chairman of the Tatar Public Cultural and Educational Centre (TPCEC) in Tashkent Rishat Nabiullin, First Deputy Chairman of TPCEC in Tashkent Rustam Tukhvatullin, special correspondent of the TNV-Planet broadcasting channel in Uzbekistan Karimova S.I., and others.

In his speech, Aydar Akhtareev informed the audience about the date of adoption and the meaning of the flag of Tatarstan, highlighting in detail the most important historical events, achievements and upcoming tasks of the republic’s development.

Rishat Nabiullin spoke about the activities of the Tatar Cultural Centre, about the events held this year, and thanked the leaders of Tatarstan and the National Council of the World Congress of Tatars, the Representative Office of Tatarstan in Uzbekistan for the continuous attention to, and support of, the Tatars in Uzbekistan, despite the far distance from their historical homeland.

As part of the event, an award ceremony was held with the presentation of diplomas and memorable gifts to the winners of the creative contest, in which, in addition to Uzbekistani participants, a part was taken by Tatars from all over the world.
