Promvest from Tatarstan specialises in the processing and sales of scrap metals of various types, categories, and volumes. The enterprise processes 1200 tonnes of metal shavings annually. For six months of implementing lean technologies, one company’s employee began to produce 170% more finished products: almost 10.5 tonnes. In addition, the production time for 5 tonnes of such chips was reduced by 26%, from 43 to 30 minutes. The project also reduced the time that raw materials wait for their turn to be processed from 25 to 7 days, or by 72%. Optimisation of production processes will allow the enterprise to produce 40-50% more chips a year.
Production optimisation at the Promvest enterprise will continue. Their immediate plans are to introduce the lean production principles at the units of processing ferrous and non-ferrous scrap metals, as well as of that selling metal products. The company has already trained 21 employees in the lean production basics.
Today in Tatarstan, more than 90 companies take part in the Labour Productivity and Employment Support national project. By 2024, this list will be joined by another 260 regional enterprises of the basic non-resource sectors of the economy.
