According to the results of price monitoring in large federal and regional retail chains in the republic from May 25 to June 1, an increase in prices for a number of socially important food products was recorded: potatoes, 3.3%; buckwheat, 3.1%; apples, 2.2%; polished rice, 1.9%, carrots, 1.9%; and vermicelli, 1%.
The main reason for the increase in prices for fruits and vegetables is the seasonal factor, which is observed in the republic from year to year.
At present, the Ministry of Industry and Trade of Tatarstan continues to work jointly with the Tatarstan’s Office of the Federal Antimonopoly Service, the Ministry of Agriculture and Foods of Tatarstan, and the Prosecutor’s Office of Tatarstan to identify the reasons for the price increases for polished rice, buckwheat and vermicelli.
In addition, more than 650,000 antiseptics, 1.6 million pairs of gloves, and 8.1 million facemasks were available in the republic’s retail and pharmacy chains as of June 4, 2020.
