All-Russian Spasskaya Fair to be held in Yelabuga

Between 3 and 5 August 2012, Yelabuga will host the 5th All-Russian Spasskaya Fair. Over 400 craftsmen will take part in it. The fair will present jewelleries, national garments, designed clothes (linen), downy goods, wood carvings, artistic weavings, ceramic wares (toys), Gzhel ceramics, leather works of art, patchwork sewing items and dolls, minted and engraved products, metal carvings, products of bast, glass, and vine by maestros of the folk art from 44 cities and 20 townships of the Russian Federation. The fair will be attended by over 40 tanning craftsmen from Russia and other countries, with their master classes for all comers.
The Spasskaya Fair will comprise national and agricultural farmsteads, as well as sports sites and children’s playgrounds. As a part of the fair, the bell-ringing festival will also be held in Yelabuga.
Yelabuga will also host 120 descendants of great townsmen from different countries, along with researchers of their biographies and works. They will enjoy a tight schedule there: the opening of the exhibition dedicated to the Battle of Borodino anniversary, the meeting at Nadezhda Durova’s Estate Museum courtyard, theatrical performance at Aleksandrovsky Gardens, “Ball of Descendants”, and readings of Marina Tsvetaeva’s poems.
