Tatarstan enhances cooperation with Pomorskie Voivodeship (Poland)

On 23 July 2012 Tatarstan Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Industry and Trade Ravil Zaripov met with the Polish delegation headed by Marshal of the Pomorskie Voivodeship (Republic of Poland) Mieczysław Struk.
In his welcoming speech Ravil Zaripov noted that Tatarstan-Poland cooperation develops drastically. Last December the Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov visited the city of Gdansk in Pomorskie Voivodeship. In 2011 the foreign trade turnover between Tatarstan and Poland exceeded USD 4 billion. Trade and economic cooperation of Tatarstan and Poland most rapidly develops in the sphere of chemical and petrochemical industries.
The meeting dealt with the promising areas of interregional cooperation in the sphere of automotive industry and automotive components manufacturing, as well as shipbuilding, energy industry, construction industry, agriculture, education, culture, innovative infrastructure and IT technologies development.
