New training lab opened

Today, the opening ceremony of the new Emerson training laboratory took place at the Kazan National Research Technological University (KNRTU). In it, students will study advanced automation technologies and practical skills in operating the present-day equipment, while already working professionals can improve their skills there. The event was attended by representatives of KNRTU, industrial enterprises, and Emerson executives. From the Tatarstan Ministry of Industry and Trade, Deputy Minister Aleksey Savelchev took part in the event.

The new laboratory presents the Plantweb digital ecosystem, a basis for solutions when implementing digital transformation projects at industrial enterprises.

In addition, the classroom is expected to host consultations and lectures from leading company’s experts, advanced training of petrochemical industry professionals, and on-site trainings and internships for students.

The laboratory was established in pursuance to the “Memorandum of Understanding in the Field of Cooperation in Development and Optimisation of Processes in Oil and Gas Production, Oil Refining, and Petrochemicals” signed between Emerson and Tatneft in 2017. One of the areas in the Memorandum includes improving practical skills of graduates with employment potential in Tatneft.
