From March 25 to March 28, for the first time at the Kazan State Power Engineering University, the 4th Sectoral Competition in Electrical Installations Skills was held between employees of industrial enterprises (an official WorldSkills Hi-Tech event). The Competition organiser is IEK Group, one of the major Russian suppliers and manufacturers of lighting and electrical equipment.
The competition was attended by representatives of Russia’s largest industrial enterprises (the Rosatom Corporation, EVRAZ, SIBUR, Norilsk Nickel, the Chelyabinsk Pipe Rolling Plant, the Afrikantov Engineering Design Bureau), teams of Switzerland, UK, Brazil, and Kazakhstan, international experts from the UAE and Iran. Throughout all days, the participants assembled engine control and lighting control circuits, showed their programming skills.
The event was included in the list of sites for practical training of the WorldSkills national team. Members of expanded WorldSkills Russia National Team, preparing for the WorldSkills Kazan 2019, competed with young workers on the same site.
Throughout the competition, professional tests and master classes were held on the Electrical Installations skills, organised with the participation of KSPEU and the Kazan Power Engineering College.
