11 December 2018, Tuesday

A two-day Coordinating Council for Industry on the topic of “Developing Industrial Exports, Export Programmes” ended today in Nizhny Novgorod. The meeting was attended by Plenipotentiary Representative of the Russian President in the Volga Federal District Igor Komarov, Minister of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation Denis Manturov, Minister of Industry and Trade of Tatarstan Albert Karimov, other ministers of industry in Russia’s regions, and trade representatives of Russia abroad.

In his speech, Denis Manturov noted that the May’s Presidential Decree stated clear guidelines: “We face the task of increasing non-oil, non-energy exports by almost twofold, to $250 billion a year, by 2024”.

Plenipotentiary Representative of the Russian President in the VFD Igor Komarov said: “Recently, there has been a positive trend of a gradual decrease in the share of fuel and energy products in the structure of exports by regions in the District. Since 2015, it has decreased from 57% to 50%. However, 50% is still a fairly high figure for the District, which concentrates a number of developed industrial centres in the automotive, petrochemical, aeronautical, shipbuilding, aerospace and other sectors”.
