In Kazan, the winners of the 5th Journalist Award received prizes for the best media coverage of blue-collar and engineering occupations. The ceremony took place during the events of the Best Goods and Services of Tatarstan 2018 contest.

Journalists were awarded at the Kazanskaya Yarmarka in the Sviyazhsk Ceremonial Hall. The winners received valuable prizes from the hands of Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade of Tatarstan German Lerner and Deputy Head of the Republic’s Tatmedia Agency for Press and Mass Communications Ildar Mirgalimov.

This year, more than fifty papers were submitted to the Kazan Helicopters’ competition “Prestige of Blue-Collar and Engineering Jobs”. The jury selected the best journalistic materials that meet the stated criteria.

The award for the best material on enhancing the image of blue-collar occupations was established by Kazan Helicopters in 2013. The contest was organised with the support of the Russian Helicopters holding, the Ministry of Industry and Trade of Tatarstan and the Republic’s Tatmedia Agency for Press and Mass Communications. In 2018, the contest was held for the fifth time. The main purpose of the award is to identify the best journalistic papers and encourage journalists to highlight personnel issues and contribute to the popularisation of blue-collar and engineering occupations.
