Sub-commission meetings within Russia-Kazakhstan IGC

Today, a working meeting of sectoral working groups and sub-commissions is held in Kazan on the eve of the Russia-Kazakhstan Intergovernmental Commission.

Throughout the day, sectoral experts of the two countries will discuss issues of interregional and cross-border cooperation, transport, cooperation in the field of the fuel and energy sector and manufacturing industry, as well as agriculture, in the working group format.

“We have plans to increase the trade turnover between Kazakhstan and Tatarstan up to $1 billion. This is a fairly feasible task. If not this year, then next year we will definitely achieve this. The trend is pretty good. Now there is an increase of about 20% per year”, said Kairat Torebayev, Director of the International Cooperation Department at the Kazakhstan’s Ministry of National Economy.
