Prospects for using LNG in APR countries to be discussed at REN 2018

New opportunities for the use of LNG, as well as prospects for cooperation and sustainable development in the Asian-Pacific Region (APR) will be discussed by the participants of the Russian Energy Week Forum on October 3-6 in Moscow.

Proposals on the LNG market formation, the specifics of dialogue with consumer countries and forecasts of the APR socio-economic development will be presented by the largest APR players of the LNG market. The event will be moderated by Liu Hongpeng, Director of Energy Division at United Nations ESCAP. Speakers will comprise representatives of energy ministries from Sri Lanka, Nepal, Bangladesh, as well as representatives of Novatek, the Skolkovo Energy Centre, PT Anglo Euro Energy Indonesia, Herbert Smith Freehills LLP, and the South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation.

The Energy Efficiency and Energy Development International Forum titled “Russian Energy Week” (REN) will be held in Moscow from October 3 to October 6, 2018. The aims of the event are to discuss the present-day global energy agenda, to determine the main avenues for fuel and energy sector development, and to seek optimal solutions to current challenges.

The total number of attendees in the Moscow site of REN 2017 exceeded 10,000. The number of foreign countries participating in the REN 2017 was 94.
