On March 14, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov made a working visit to the Kazan Engine-Building Production Association (KMPO). During the visit, he examined the current activities of the enterprise and met with the plant's staff. Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Industry and Trade of Tatarstan Albert Karimov also took part in the event.
The Tatarstan President inspected one of the production workshops and saw samples of the products manufactured there. Director General of KMPO Damir Karimullin told Rustam Minnikhanov about corporate plans to increase the number of orders and new projects being implemented by the company. Specifically, within the actions for ensuring the energy efficiency of the enterprise, it is planned to build a gas turbine power plant on the KMPO territory; its commissioning is planned for autumn 2019. The implementation of this project would contribute to developing the principles of turnkey projects for own energy sources to be used in various industries for reducing energy costs.
Rustam Minnikhanov also spoke with engine builders, noting that new developments would add opportunities for production diversification and will better the company's prospects.
