Kazan Plant Elektropribor celebrates its anniversary

One of the leaders of the aircraft industry in Russia, OAO Kazan Plant Elektropribor, is celebrating its centennial anniversary. On the occasion of the 100th anniversary, the employees of the enterprise were congratulated by Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov. The event was also attended by Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Industry and Trade of Tatarstan Albert Karimov.

The ceremonial meeting was continued with the presentation of Tatarstan’s government awards and followed with a celebratory programme comprising performances of republic’s famous groups.

For reference: Kazan Plant Elektropribor, which was called “Plant Number 230” during the WWII, was founded in Moscow in 1917 as a first-born of the Russia’s aircraft instrument making industry. Famous Russian scientist Alexander Friedmann was appointed the organiser and the first director of the plant.

With the outbreak of the Great Patriotic War, the factory was evacuated to Kazan. Seventy-six out of its hundred years, the Plant is located in the capital of Tatarstan and always takes an active part in public life of the city and the republic, provides charitable and sponsorship assistance.
