Tatarstan President held honouring ceremony for WorldSkills Russia winners

Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov had a meeting today with representatives of the Tatarstan team who took first place in the overall medal standings at the 9th National Young Professionals Championship (WorldSkills Russia). The meeting took place at the Kazan Kremlin.  

Rustam Minnikhanov congratulated the Tatarstan team on their successful performance at the championship. He thanked the experts, trainers, and coaches for the work done, as well as the heads of educational institutions who ensured all the conditions to prepare for the contest.

For the past 9 years, the WorldSkills movement has been a driver of effective training technologies in the Tatarstan system of vocational education. “This year, new skills have been introduced at the championship, many of them related to digitalisation. These skills will enable young professionals to be competitive in today’s labour market,” said President Minnikhanov.

The President then presented a number of Tatarstan awards.

The finals of the 9th National Young Professionals Championship took place in Ufa from August 25-29, 2021. Tatarstan’s representatives won 80 medals: 24 gold, 34 silver, and 22 bronze. The Tatarstan team competed for prizes in 127 skills.
