The Expert Council of the Industrial Development Fund approved a loan for the Tatarstan-headquartered RIAT in the amount of RUB 300 million under the Labour Productivity programme. The company will purchase equipment, organise production processes under lean manufacturing principles and methods, and will manufacture up to 2,000 special vehicles a year in its renovated building. As a result, company’s labour productivity is expected to grow by 40% until 2024. The loan funds will be used to purchase blanking, machining, welding, assembly, and painting equipment for the production of KAMAZ vehicles with modifications for operation in various road and climatic conditions, multi-axle chassis for special equipment, dump and flat trucks (trailers), tank trucks, and vacuum loaders.

In parallel with equipping the production facilities, it is expected to introduce a set of technology solutions in accordance with lean manufacturing principles: Kanban systems, visualisation systems, and others. This would create a unified information space, with the aid of which all automated enterprise management systems and industrial equipment (IoT – Internet of Things) will be able to promptly exchange information, which would make it possible to evaluate the performance of equipment and personnel.

The total project budget is RUB 422.3 million.
