From olden times, Russia has been a great maritime power. Our ancestors were outstanding seafarers and shipbuilders, and nowadays the shipbuilding profession remains one of the most respected in the society.
The year 2018 was marked by an important event of both the republic’s and the all-Russian level in the field of shipbuilding: Ak Bars Shipbuilding Corporation started its operations there. As one of the most vigorously developing shipbuilding enterprises in the country, the Zelenodolsk Shipyard has become a fundamental link in the corporation’s structure, whose main mission is focused on the successful solving of government’s important tasks to ensure the country's defence capability and development of transport communications along the Russia’s waterways.

On June 28, the Expert Council of the Russian Industry Development Fund approved the project by KAMATEK on organising the production for exterior parts of KAMAZ cabs from SMC.
To date, leading European manufacturers are widely using SMC materials in car and truck designs. An example of domestic production is KAMAZ that manufactures trucks with a new cab entirely made from composite parts. The use of SMC allowed the company to essentially lighten the weight of truck cabs, to combine various structural elements into single units, thereby achieving a significant economic effect.
On June 26-29, Tatarstan was visited by Secretary General of the International Apparel Federation Matthijs Crietee.
The International Apparel Federation is an international trade association whose membership includes national clothing associations and companies whose core business is sourcing, designing, development, manufacturing, distribution, and retailing of apparel products at countries from all over the world.
The purpose of his visit to Tatarstan is to consider the city of Kazan as a venue for the next IAF meeting.
Within the framework of the visit, a number of meetings were arranged with light industry representatives from Tatarstan, including tours of production facilities and trading house of the Melita Fur Factory, major shopping centres of Kazan, and the fashion house of Katya Borisova, a famous designer and founder of the prestigious brand. Also during the visit, Matthijs Crietee saw the display of the products made by republic's manufacturers, young designers, graduates of the Kazan Federal University and the Kazan National Research University of Technology (also an IAF member), at the exhibition areas of the Kazan Hippodrome.
On June 24 at 18:27, the 220-kV Uzlovaya substation (Almetyevsk branch of the Grid Company) experienced an emergency shutdown of the 1st and the 2nd 110-kV bus systems due to the damage in a circuit breaker at the 110-kV Uzlovaya-GPZ overhead line, followed by an oil discharge to the adjacent 110-kV switch cell of the T-1 transformer.
As a result of the accident, power supply was terminated for a part of consumers in the Almetyevsk City and the Almetyevsk Municipal District, a total of 80,000 people in six settlements.
After performing operational switching for separating damaged sections on the 1st and 2nd 110- kV bus systems, the restoration of the power supply to consumers began at 19:06 and ended at 20:42.
The damaged equipment underwent emergency recovery operations.
On June 24 at 19:00, a meeting was announced of the Tatarstan Headquarters for Ensuring Power Supply Security, which was commenced at 20:30 under the leadership of Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Industry and Trade of Tatarstan Albert Karimov.
Today, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Industry and Trade of Tatarstan Albert Karimov, Director General of TAIF Albert Shigabutdinov, Chairman of the Nizhnekamskneftekhim Board Ruslan Shigabutdinov, Member of the Nizhnekamskneftekhim Board Vladimir Busygin, Director General of Nizhnekamskneftekhim Azat Bikmurzin, and Head of the Nizhnekamsk Municipality Aydar Metshin took part in the official ceremony of commissioning the isobutylene facility rated at 160,000 tonnes a year launched at the isoprene-monomer plant.
Isobutylene is a feedstock for isoprene, the main component in the production of synthetic isoprene and butyl rubbers widely used in tyre industry for the production of various rubber products. In addition, isobutylene is used in Nizhnekamskneftekhim to produce organoaluminum compounds.
The new production of isobutylene is the second of three investment projects at the isoprene-monomer plant, which are implemented as part of the programme to increase the production of SKI-3 isoprene rubber up to 330,000 tonnes a year.
The facility allowed creating 68 new jobs. It meets all present-day technology solutions for equipment and personnel safety, as well as energy efficiency and environmental friendliness.
Today, Kazan was visited by Director General of Bank Melli Iran and Chairman of the Board of Mir Business Bank Mohammad Reza Hosseinzadeh. The purpose of his visit was to discuss the opportunity of opening a branch of Mir Business Bank in Kazan. The business programme of the visit suggested a number of official meetings, including those with Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov and members of the Tatarstan Government.
The Ministry of Industry and Trade of Tatarstan will see the discussion of potential Melli Bank’s participation in joint projects of enterprises from Tatarstan and IRI.
During the visit, there will also be a meeting with top officials from the Tatarstan Investment Development Agency and the Ministry of Economy of Tatarstan, as well as with representatives of Russia’s credit institutions.
Bank Melli Iran is the first national Iranian bank that was established in 1927 by the order of the Mejlis (the Parliament of Iran) and since then has invariably remained one of the most influential Iranian banks.
The joint-stock Mir Business Bank was incorporated in January 2002; it is a bank with 100% foreign capital, its sole shareholder being the Bank Melli Iran of Tehran.
Today, the regular meeting of the Committee to Combat Illicit Trafficking of Industrial Products was held under the chairmanship of Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade of Tatarstan Almaz Khusainov, this time dedicated to the issue of the quality of gasoline and diesel fuel in Tatarstan.
During the meeting, participants reviewed the results of work carried out to control the quality of motor fuels sold in Tatarstan. The participants to the meeting heard reports by Deputy Head of the Board for Managing the Rational Use of Fuel and Energy Resources Shamil Gumerov, and Director of the Tatneft-AZS Centre Vyacheslav Chichkov.
Shamil Gumerov, Deputy Head of the Rational Use Board, described the measures taken to improve the quality of motor fuels sold in the republic. Vyacheslav Chichkov, Director of the Tatneft-AZS Centre, one of the leading republic’s companies in the field of selling oil and gas products, presented the whole chain of ongoing work to control the quality of fuel sold at filling stations of Tatneft.
As a result of the meeting, the members of the Committee noted the positive results in the work of these organisations and suggested further steps to improve the quality of fuel sold at the filling stations.
The Republic’s annual open Festival of Working Youth Creativity “Our Time – Beznen Zaman” has been held in Tatarstan with support from the President of the Republic since 2013. The Festival is a socially significant governmental project that has no commercial purposes. The mission of the Festival is to shape a new generation of professionals, popularise blue-collar and white-collar jobs, and uncover the creative potential of young people working in enterprises and organisations.
According to the Resolution by the Tatarstan Cabinet of Ministers No. 1345-r of 04.06.2018, the qualifying stages of the Festival will be held from October to November 2018 to include four zonal qualifying stages in the cities of Nizhnekamsk, Naberezhnye Chelny, Zainsk, and Kazan, the Super Final and the Gala Concert in Kazan.
We invite your organisation to take part in the Festival and present the team or performers (age of participants from 18 to 35 inclusive).
The updated Regulations of the Festival and all the necessary information can be found on the Festival's website at www.bzzm.ru.
For participation, an application should be submitted in accordance with the Festival Regulations until September 25, 2018.
Participation in the Festival is free of charge.
On June 16, Innopolis saw the opening of the Schneider Electric Research Centre.
Tatarstan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Minister Albert Karimov took part in the event from the Ministry of Industry and Trade of Tatarstan.
Schneider Electric has long been represented in the Russian market and is involved in the implementation of many projects in the manufacturing industry. “The choice was made in favour of Innopolis, as this is a location with highly qualified engineers, comfortable for living and working”, the company's representatives say.
Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov noted that the main element of cooperation is import substitution. “The company accommodated our requests and opened its facility at this location. There is no doubt that the software products being developed here are in demand. These are security systems, automation systems. Innopolis was chosen by the company for opening the Centre, because they really have everything necessary here”, he stressed.
