Today in the Tatarstan Ministry of Industry and Trade, Deputy Minister German Lerner had a meeting with CEO of the Turkey-based Brimstone, Mr. Efe Münip Nurdogdu. At the meeting, the company’s head noted that Tatarstan has a serious logistics potential and a high level of development in petrochemical and engineering sectors.

“There are unique opportunities for cooperation with chemical enterprises in Tatarstan. All this is of particular interest for the implementation of our company’s investment project in the republic”, said Mr. Nurdogdu.

Brimstone’s core business is sulphur and related products. The company is dedicated to produce high quality powder sulphur for customers. A company’s manufacturing plant was built in Izmir, Turkey to produce milled sulphur for the rubber and agriculture industries. The production capacity of this facility is 3,000 tonnes monthly and 36,000 tonnes annually.

From April 10 to April 12, 2019, the Kazan Expo International Exhibition Centre will host one of the largest energy events in the Volga Federal District, the Tatarstan Energy Efficiency Forum (TEF-2019).

The Forum will feature an eventful programme to be opened by the Tatarstan Government session on the progress in implementing the government programme “Energy Saving and Enhancing Energy Efficiency in the Republic of Tatarstan in 2018 and Tasks for 2019”.

On the first day of the forum, a seminar meeting on “Developing Gas-Engine Fuel Market and Expanding the Use of Natural Gas Fuel in Tatarstan” will be held.

Energy service market development will be discussed at the round table “Expertise in Implementing Energy Service Contracts: Investor’s and Customer’s Opinions”.

April 11 will see the conference on “Production, Transportation, and Distribution of Heat Energy” from an industry’s leader, Tatenergo, and a plenary session “Tackling Problems of Energy Efficiency and Uninterrupted Power Supply to Consumers”.

The third day of the Forum will traditionally be held under the Youth Day slogan. University students, young scientists and professionals, experts and young leaders of energy companies will take part in the QUIZ game on energy efficiency.

Minister Karimov arrived to France on a two-day visit as part of the Tatarstan delegation headed by Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov. The delegation included CEOs of large industrial enterprises and heads of republic’s authorities.

On the first day on arrival in Marseille, the delegation visited Airbus Helicopters. It is one of the leading manufacturers of helicopters worldwide. The company's product line includes both civilian and military helicopters. One of the Airbus Helicopters rotorcrafts made a demonstration flight on the airfield.

On March 22, the Tatarstan President had a meeting with First Deputy Mayor of Marseille Jean Roatta, where the parties discussed issues of mutually beneficial cooperation between Tatarstan and the Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur region.

Within the framework of the forum, it was noted that there are all opportunities in Tatarstan for localising businesses: special economic zones, priority social and economic development areas (PSEDA), technology parks, and industrial sites. At the same time, Tatarstan has gained extensive experience of work with foreign investors, and the region’s authorities are ready to provide all necessary assistance.

On the second day of the visit, the delegation also made a tour of the Technoparc des Florides, where the aerospace industry enterprises are located.

Minister Karimov visited Tajikistan as part of the Tatarstan delegation headed by Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov. In Dushanbe, they studied plans for establishing a Tajik-Turkish joint venture to assemble Akia Avesto buses and an expertise in producing cables at the Dushanbe-headquartered Nokili Talco cable plant.

During the Tajikistan-Tatarstan business forum, Minister of Industry and Trade of Tatarstan Albert Karimov spoke about the trade, economic and industrial potential of the republic.

The State Duma of the Russian Federation has currently submitted and is preparing for first reading the draft Law on Amendments to the Federal Law “On the Basic Principles of State Regulation of Trading Activities in the Russian Federation” and Article 28 of the Federal Law “On General Principles of Organising Local Self-Government in the Russian Federation” (with respect to improving the regulations on non-fixed-location and retail delivery trade) (hereinafter, the draft Law).

The purpose of the draft Law is to establish general principles and rules for regulating itinerant trade, creating favourable conditions for trading activities using non-fixed-location and mobile trading facilities.

Today, the Tatarstan Ministry of Industry and Trade hosted a discussion of the draft Law with the participation of Deputy Chairman of the State Duma Committee on Economic Policies Alfiya Kogogina, Deputy Director of the Department for Domestic Trade Development at the Russian Ministry of Industry and Trade Sergey Lobanov, Tatarstan Minister of Industry and Trade Albert Karimov, representatives of municipal districts, cities, the business community, and other officials.

During the meeting, each of the parties made its comments and suggestions, which will be collected at a later stage and considered additionally.

As part of the Tatarstan team, five employees of Nizhnekamskneftekhim will take part in the WorldSkills National Competition to be held in Kazan this May. Young petrochemical workers will present their expertise and knowledge in three skills, Plastic Die Engineering, Chemical Analysis Service, and Welding.

Although more than two months remain until the start of the National Competition, preparations for it have already begun. Competitors are actively improving their knowledge, meeting with professionals from among the Nizhnekamskneftekhim staff, who were trained as experts in skills. The next such meeting chaired by Acting Deputy Director General for Personnel and Social Affairs Rodion Bulashov was held on March 14th. They discussed a number of various issues related to the preparations for the National Competition.

Today, the next Coordination Council for Industry was held in Grozny, the capital of the Chechen Republic, with the participation of Russian Minister of Industry and Trade Denis Manturov, Head of the Chechen Republic Ramzan Kadyrov, Tatarstan Minister of Industry and Trade Albert Karimov, and other authorised representatives for industrial development in Russian regions.

Within the framework of the Council, an intense business programme was organised on the premises of the Chechen State University.

In the morning, Minister Karimov took part in panel discussions on the implementation of the Industrial Exports federal project, the International Cooperation and Export national project; on the issues of developing the Support Measures Navigator service for the State Information System of Manufacturing Industry (GISP).

In the afternoon, a meeting of the Coordination Council discussed key issues of domestic industry with respect to industrial standards, namely the use of standardisation tools for achieving the goals of national projects.

After welcoming speeches by Denis Manturov and Ramzan Kadyrov, presentations were made by representatives of Russia’s development institutions: the Russian Exports Centre, the Russian Venture Company, representatives of large corporations, such as Gazprom, Rosatom, and others.

Andrey Boginsky, Director General of the Russian Helicopters Holding (part of Rostec Corporation), visited the Kazan Helicopters to inspect the production process, paying particular attention to the helicopters manufactured as part of Russia’s air medical service development programme.

During the visit, he also met with leading experts of the Kazan Helicopters Design Office and introduced Aleksey Garipov, who will assume the duties of the Deputy Managing Director and Head of the Kazan Helicopter Design Office from May 1, 2019.

Ansat is a lightweight twin-engine multipurpose helicopter, the full-scale production of which is deployed at the Kazan Helicopters. According to the helicopter’s certificate, its design allows to convert it into a cargo version or into a passenger rotorcraft that can lift up to seven people. In May 2015, the modification with a medevac module was certified, and in 2017, deliveries of the helicopter began as part of the Russia’s air medical service development programme. Ansat is certified for the operation at outdoor temperatures ranging from -45°С to +50°С.

This week saw a webinar for the regions on the implementation of the corporate programme to increase competitiveness (CCP). The main speakers were Director General of the Russian Exports Centre Andrey Slepnev and Director General of the Industrial Project Management Centre (Russian Technology Agency) at the project office of the Russian Ministry of Industry and Trade Vladimir Pastukhov.

The experts answered the questions concerning the main provisions of the Russian Government Resolution No. 191 of February 23, 2019, as well as the timing and procedures for organisations to apply for participation in this programme.

The webinar was visited by about 280 participants from all regions of Russia; from Tatarstan these were Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade of Tatarstan Almaz Khusainov, employees of the Analytical Department at the Ministry of Industry and Trade of Tatarstan and representatives of the Tatarstan Export Support Centre.

The 9th Republic’s Youth Forum Our Tatarstan has started. The Forum is open to young people aged 14 to 30 years (or young scientists under the age of 35 years), activists of children's and youth public associations of Tatarstan. Applications are accepted on the Forum website until March 25, 2019. The Forum finals are scheduled for May 2019.

The Forum is intended for supporting youth projects and ideas related to 9 topics: “Territory of Innovation”, “Territory of Architecture”, “Territory of Culture and Arts”, “Territory of Business”, “Territory of Good”, “Territory of Situational Centre Elements”, “Territory of Sports”, “Territory of Birthplace”, and “Territory of Civil Society”.

The Republic’s Youth Forum Our Tatarstan will result in selecting the best projects and youth programmes for further support and backing from the Tatarstan Government, partners, potential investors, and Forum organisers. Moreover, the Forum is the main venue for selecting the best projects from Tatarstan for participation in federal events such as the Volga Federal District Youth Forum iVolga, the All-Russian youth educational forums Taurida, Territory of Meanings, Baltic Artek, and others.
