The Permanent Mission of the Republic of Tatarstan in the City of St. Petersburg and the Leningrad Region carry out much work on expanding the mutually beneficial economic and investment cooperation between St. Petersburg and Tatarstan.
Yesterday, a general meeting of the St. Petersburg Association of Industrial Enterprises was held at the St. Petersburg’s Import Substitution and Localisation Centre. Currently, the Association comprises over 50 major enterprises of St. Petersburg in the areas of shipbuilding, mechanical engineering, instrument making, and electronics, the VTB Bank, the Council of St. Petersburg Universities’ Principals, the Inter-Industry Union of Transport Workers and Entrepreneurs, the Creative Union of Inventors, the Engineering Academy, and engineering companies.
During the event, Permanent Representative Renat Valiullin held a presentation of the industrial, investment, and tourism potential in Tatarstan.
Following the presentation, an agreement was signed on the interaction of the Tatarstan’s Permanent Mission and the St. Petersburg Association of Industrial Enterprises. The signatories to this agreement were St. Petersburg AIE’s President Valery Radchenko and Permanent Representative of Tatarstan Renat Valiullin. This is the third agreement signed by the Permanent Mission with major business associations of St. Petersburg.
On February 14, the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Republic of Tatarstan hosted a meeting with the delegation from Ram Dış Ticaret (Republic of Turkey).
The meeting was attended by Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade of Tatarstan Aleksey Savelchev, Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade of Tatarstan Denis Valeyev and company’s representatives: ex-deputy of the Turkish Grand National Assembly, Chairman of the Board of Partners at BELKO Ankara Salih Kapusuz, Sales and Marketing Director at Ram Dış Ticaret A.Ş. Zeynep Kuman, Head of Business Development at Ram Dış Ticaret A.Ş. Kagan Duman, and Consultant of Ram Dış Ticaret A.Ş. Jener Yıldırım.
During the meeting, the guests heard a presentation about the industrial potential in the Republic of Tatarstan and discussed issues of further mutually beneficial cooperation in the field of petrochemicals.
On February 14, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Industry and Trade of Tatarstan Albert Karimov had a meeting with representatives of Mahindra (India).
The Tatarstan Ministry of Industry and Trade was visited by CEO of Farm Division at Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. and main shareholder of Sampo Rosenlew Ltd. Harish Chavan, CEO of Sampo Rosenlew Ltd. (Finland) Jali Prihti, and Representative of Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. in Russia and CIS Kawaljeet S Makkar.
During the meeting, Albert Karimov made a presentation of the industrial potential in Tatarstan. The parties to the meeting discussed issues of further mutually beneficial cooperation.
Opening the meeting, Albert Karimov noted that India is an important strategic partner of Tatarstan and its major trade and economic partner (For reference: foreign trade turnover between India and Tatarstan was almost US$ 2.5 million in 2016 and US$ 1.2 million in 9 months of 2017).
Today, a 1st line of the Medical Instrument Sterilisation Facility based on the Kazan Medical Instruments Plant was opened at Kirbi Village in the Laishevsky District of Tatarstan. The event was attended by Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov, Deputy Director General of the National Medical Research Centre for Cardiology Renat Akchurin, Chairman of the All-Russian Public Medical Industry Council Yuri Kalinin, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Industry and Trade of Tatarstan Albert Karimov, and others.
The project initiated by the Kazan Medical Instrument Plant (KMIZ) started in 2016, when the construction of a full-cycle production centre for medical products was launched at the industrial site of the Kirby Village. The new facility's specialty is the production, sterilisation and packaging of thermo-labile plastic, rubber, metal, and electromechanical medical materials, instruments, and equipment. This year, the KMIZ is prepared to supply RUB 100 million worth of products to the medical institutions of Tatarstan. According to projections, the annual increase in production will amount to more than RUB 200 million. By 2020, the production output is expected to reach RUB 1.2 billion a year.
Experts of TANECO received awards of the 18th All-Russian Engineer of the Year Contest. The title of the Professional Engineer of Russia was conferred on Igor Andryushchenko and Ilmir Suleimanov, Deputy Chief Power Engineer and Deputy Chief Engineer of TANECO, respectively.
An engineer at the TANECO Department of Automated Control Systems, Konstantin Kuchukbaev, became the winner in the Engineering Skills of Young People version.
The annual All-Russian engineer contest is organised to enhance the prestige of labour and professionalism of engineering staff, identify the elite of the Russia’s body of engineers, build up interest in engineering professions among young people, as well as to promote the achievements and expertise of the best engineers in Russia and to create a databank of the country's best engineers. The winners are recorded in the Russia’s Register of Professional Engineers.
February 9 is the Civil Aviation Worker’s Day. Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Industry and Trade of Tatarstan Albert Karimov congratulated aviation workers on their professional holiday:

The only guaranteeing supplier in the territory of Tatarstan, AO Tatenergosbyt, has once again won the Grand Prix and the title of the Best Power Retail Company of Russia, following the results of the All-Russian competition held by the EnergoNews, an industry-specific Internet portal.
A total of 64 companies from 41 regions of Russia took part in the competition. The main results of 2017 activities for Tatenergosbyt were presented in 5 categories, winning prizes in each of them:
- Most customer-oriented power retail company: 1st place;
- Power retail company with the widest range of services: 1st place;
- Energy sales + energy saving: 3rd place;
- Most transparent power retail company: 3rd place;
- Socially responsible power retail company: 2nd place.
In addition, the results of a monitoring conducted among guaranteeing suppliers in Russia shows that the sales mark-ups set for Tatenergo in 2018 to industrial consumers and small and medium-sized businesses are among the lowest both in the Volga Federal District and in the Russian Federation in general. In turn, this allows the republic's enterprises to save on energy costs and use the money resources to upgrade their production facilities.

Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Industry and Trade of Tatarstan Albert Karimov is currently on a working visit to the territorial centre of Heilongjiang Province, the city of Harbin (People’s Republic of China). As a member of the Russian delegation, he took part in the opening ceremony of the Years of Russian-Chinese Interregional Cooperation.
The ceremony was held at the Harbin Opera House. The participants to the event were addressed by Vice Premier of the Chinese State Council Wang Yang. He congratulated all those present on the opening of the Years of Interregional Cooperation and read out a welcome address on behalf of the President of the People's Republic of China Xi Jinping.
Plenipotentiary Representative of the Russian President to the Far East Federal District Yuri Trutnev also congratulated those present on the opening of the Years and voiced the address of President Putin to the meeting participants.
Further, Wang Yang, Yuri Trutnev, as well as Communist Party Secretary of Heilongjiang Province Zhang Qingwei and Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Russia to the People's Republic of China Andrei Denisov, symbolically launched the Years of Russian-Chinese Interregional Cooperation.
Also today, Albert Karimov had a meeting with Vice Governor of the Heilongjiang Province Ne Yunlin. During the meeting, the parties discussed issues of further cooperation in a number of areas and outlined steps towards cooperative solutions on topical issues.
The Tatarstan Ministry of Industry and Trade announces that the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation is collecting offers for compiling the List of Technology Areas, with an aim of selecting Russian organisations to be granted subsidies from the federal budget for partial compensation of their R&D expenses in priority areas of the civil industries within the framework of implementing complicated investment projects by such organisations in accordance with the Rules approved by the Resolution of the Russian Government No. 1312 of December 30, 2013.

Professionals of the Tatneft Company have again become winners at the All-Russian Engineer of the Year Contest.
The contest is held annually by the Russian and International Unions of Scientific and Engineering Public Organisations involving the Prokhorov Academy of Engineering Sciences and the Interregional Fund for the Promotion of Scientific and Technical Progress.
Following the jury decision of the All-Russian Professional Engineers contest, the titles of the contest winners were awarded to Rinat Aflatunov (NGDU Elkhovneft), Renal Islamov (NGDU Elkhovneft), Igor Babichev (Well Workover and EOR Board of Tatneft), Irik Fattakhov (Well Workover and EOR Board of Tatneft), Marat Malikov (NGDU Almetyevneft), Constantin Mayakin (Bugulma Mechanical Plant of Tatneft), Dmitry Pischaev (NGDU Leninogorskneft), Vladlen Podavalov (NGDU Bavlyneft); Lenar Sagidullin (NGDU Jalilneft); Oleg Salimov (TatNIPIneft), and Marat Khisametdinov (TatNIPIneft).
