The Ministry hosted a regular meeting of the working group on implementing the wind farm construction project under the chairmanship of Minister Karimov.

The working group was created in December 2018 to organise the interaction of ministries, agencies, local self-government bodies, and industrial enterprises in the construction of wind farms in Tatarstan.

To date, wind measurements have been completed in the Kama-Ustinsky, Rybno-Slobodsky and Spassky districts of the republic. In addition, wind monitoring is now being conducted in other districts of Tatarstan to identify additional potential sites for wind farm construction.

A total of sixteen such sites have been identified; it is there that the experts from the Kazan State Power Engineering University are now determining the wind potential of the republic. This was explained at the meeting by Nail Timerbaev, head of the Renewable Energy Department at KSPEU.

At the end of the meeting, the participants agreed on the development of a Roadmap to coordinate project implementation efforts.

Reports on power generation and wind measurements were presented yesterday, on October 10, in the Ministry of Industry and Trade of Tatarstan.

Representatives of the Kazan State Power Engineering University held a presentation on the work done in the Spassky, Kamsko-Ustinsky and Rybno-Slobodsky districts of the republic.

Experts of the KSPEU worked over the course of the year at three sites: Izmeri, Sorochyi Gory, and Krasnovidovo. Research was conducted on parameters such as wind direction and speed, turbulence intensity and wind distribution. Based on these data, wind farms are expected to be built at these sites in the future.

Following the results of their work, the experts determined the parameters of electricity generation for a ten-year period.
