Reports on power generation and wind measurements were presented yesterday, on October 10, in the Ministry of Industry and Trade of Tatarstan.
Representatives of the Kazan State Power Engineering University held a presentation on the work done in the Spassky, Kamsko-Ustinsky and Rybno-Slobodsky districts of the republic.
Experts of the KSPEU worked over the course of the year at three sites: Izmeri, Sorochyi Gory, and Krasnovidovo. Research was conducted on parameters such as wind direction and speed, turbulence intensity and wind distribution. Based on these data, wind farms are expected to be built at these sites in the future.
Following the results of their work, the experts determined the parameters of electricity generation for a ten-year period.
On September 18, the International Applied Science Conference entitled “Smart Energy Systems 2019” started at the Kazan State Power Engineering University. The co-organiser is Peter the Great St. Petersburg Polytechnic University.
The Conference comprises four sections. The first one is “Energy Systems and Complexes”, which discusses issues related to the production, transmission, and consumption of heat and electric energy. The second section aims at automation and electricity meters. The third section is “Electromechanics”. The fourth one is devoted to management and economics in the energy sector.
The International Academic Committee of the Conference includes scientists from Russia, Austria, Germany, Italy, the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Bulgaria, Romania, Belarus, Turkey, and India. The Kazan State Power Engineering University hosted an open lecture by Timo Mäkelä, Chief Adviser at the Finnish Innovation Fund Sitra, on global trends in the circular economy. During the visit, the Finnish guest also had time to talk with KSPEU Principal Edvard Abdullazyanov about the upcoming opening of the Sitra Centre, which is scheduled for autumn 2019. After the lecture, Timo Mäkelä answered several questions from Tatarstan entrepreneurs who were interested in the activities of Sitra.
As a result of the lecture, a meeting was held between representatives of the delegation from Finland and the leadership of the KSPEU, at which the question was raised about the further cooperation between the University and Sitra.
KSPEU as a venue for the event was not chosen by chance. In April this year, an agreement was reached on the establishment of a circular economy centre on the University grounds jointly with Sitra and a number of concerned enterprises from Tatarstan and Finland.
What is more, this agreement was confirmed by Sitra executives during the visit of the official delegation from Tatarstan headed by Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov to Finland in June this year. During the visit, the Tatarstan delegation took part in the opening ceremony of the World Circular Economy Forum.
