On August 22, a delegation headed by Prime Minister of the Republic of Kazakhstan Askar Mamin visited TANECO within their working trip to Tatarstan.
During the visit, the guests examined key facilities designed for oil refining and production of popular petroleum products, including Euro-5 gasolines of AI-92, AI-95, AI-95, AI-98 and premium TANECO-100 brands; Euro-5 diesel fuel; jet kerosene of RT, TS-1 and Jet A-1 grades, high-index API Group II and III base oils and lubricants based on them for all areas of manufacturing industry.
Tatneft’s Director General Nail Maganov shared company’s experience in recovering extra-viscous oil; dozens of technologies have been tested by the company, with particular focus on environmental and industrial safety.
The delegation of Kazakhstan studied long-term plans related to the further development of oil refining, the tyre business, as well as the construction of petrochemical facilities for the production of engineering plastics and other petrochemical products not previously manufactured in Russia.
Prime Minister Askar Mamin emphasised that the objectives of the visit to Tatarstan include studying successful industrial projects, as well as expanding cooperation in the oil producing and oil refining industries.

Production of multi-grade hydraulic oils of the VMGZ type (VMGZ-45, VMGZ-55, VMGZ-60) started at TANECO, the oil refining complex of Tatneft.
The production of hydraulic oils is an important achievement within the framework of retrofitting the Tatneft’s oil production activities. Following the course of import substitution strategy, the company selected domestic process equipment and automation tools for equipping its new production facilities. Thanks to the well-coordinated work of the teams of TANECO and Tatneft’s Department for Construction Projects Implementation, the installation and commissioning of a new hydraulic oil production and packaging line were completed within the shortest time.
New products can be used in the northern regions as a working fluid in hydraulic systems of various industrial equipment. It is also intended for the use as a winter grade under moderate climatic conditions in hydraulic drive and control systems of construction, road, logging, lifting, transport, and other machinery in industrial hydraulic equipment operated in the open air at oil temperatures from -40°С for VMGZ-45, from -45°С for VMGZ-55, and from -50°С in case of VMGZ-60.
The design capacity of the new lubricant production facility at the TANECO is 1,800 tonnes per year.

Tatneft filling stations and Magnit retail chain have launched a joint pilot project, the opening of retail outlets at the company's filling stations.
Testing the first retail outlets under the Magnit brand began at a Tatneft gas station in the Krasnodar Territory, where the retail chain opened compact stores with the most popular range of goods. The first two facilities are located near the M4 Don federal highway on the way to the Black Sea coast, where a focus has been made on popular products, including various types of coffee, confectionery, beverages, etc.
Over the past five years, Tatneft’s distribution network has gained sufficient competence in the non-fuel business and is not limiting to the sales of oil products. As part of its filling station chain upgrade, new station formats are being introduced with an expanded cafe area, developed public catering; customers at Tatneft filling stations are offered high-quality grain coffee, national bakery products, and a wide range of goods and services. One of the areas for the non-fuel business development is the cooperation with well-known retail chains or fast-food chains, which allows expanding the list of services and attracting new customers to its filling stations.
In addition to the southern direction, Magnit stores are also expected to be organised at filling stations in the Moscow area. Following the results of this project, a decision will be made on further development of cooperation with the Magnit chain.

The first straight-run gasoline was produced at the ELOU-AVT-6 unit with a vacuum residue visbreaker at the Tatneft’s TANECO Refinery.
The estimated capacity of ELOU-AVT-6 is 6 million tonnes of crude oil per year. The unit will produce hydrocarbon gas, straight-run gasoline fraction, kerosene and diesel fractions, vacuum gas oil, and tar.
The general designer of ELOU-AVT-6 is OOO INKO-TeK, its general construction contractor is OOO Orgneftekhim Holding. The process flow scheme of ELOU-AVT-6 is chosen in such a way that further deeper processing should provide stock for all installations of the Nizhnekamsk Complex of Oil Refining and Petrochemical Plants.
Due to the focus of Tatneft on strengthening cooperation with domestic mechanical engineering companies, all process equipment was ordered and produced at Russian factories.
After the launch of the second ELOU-AVT-6 primary processing unit, the total rated capacity of the TANECO refinery will increase up to 14 million tonnes a year.
