The Russian Helicopters Holding and the State Transport Leasing Company (STLC) have concluded a contract, which provides for the supply of twelve Ansat medevac helicopters.

The contract was signed within the framework of the International Aviation and Space Salon MAKS-2017; the signatories to it were Director General of Russian Helicopters Andrey Boginsky and Director General of STLC Sergey Khramagin. According to the contract, a total of 18 Mi-8AMT and Mi-8MTV-1 helicopters manufactured by the Ulan-Ude Aviation Plant and 12 Ansat helicopters from Kazan will be delivered to STLC in 2018.

Ansat is a light twin-engine multirole helicopter with a hydro-mechanical flight control system (HMCS). In May 2015, the modification with a medical module was certified. It complies with all international standards for medical aviation services and allows saving a patient’s life during transporting to a hospital.

The medevac Ansat has a number of competitive advantages over rivals in its class. First of all, it requires less operational, training and maintenance expenses. In addition, it can maintain high speed, which allows using it for long-range flights.

According to the helicopter’s certificate, its design allows to convert it into a cargo version or into a passenger rotorcraft that can lift up to seven people, in just one hour.
