19 July 2017, Wednesday

Kazan Helicopters was the first in Russia to receive the Production Organisation Approval Certificate. This document confirms the compliance of the civil aviation equipment manufacturer with the Aviation Regulations requirements and grants the right to manufacture civilian helicopters. For the Kazan Helicopters, these are Mi-172, Mi-8MTV-1, Mi-17-1V, Mi-8MTV-1 passenger version, Ansat, and Ansat-K.

In accordance with the Air Code of the Russian Federation, a civil aviation equipment manufacturer must pass certification in the body authorised by the Russian Government. The first Production Organisation Approval Certificate was issued to the Kazan Helicopters by the Aviation Register of the Interstate Aviation Committee (AR IAC) on November 22, 1999.

The Production Organisation Approval Certificate is issued for an indefinite period of time and is valid until cancelled by the authorised body. The AR IAC Commission conducted biennial field audits of the Kazan Helicopters production facilities to confirm the validity of the Certificate for another term. Effective from 9 April 2017, the Resolution of the Russian Federation Government transferred the functions of the aircraft manufacturers’ certification to the Federal Air Transport Agency (Rosaviatsia).
