TAIF-NK launched its rebuilt plant for industrial wastewater treatment

8 June 2017, Thursday

Today in Nizhnekamsk, the refinery of OAO TAIF-NK hosted a ceremonial event dedicated to the launch of its industrial wastewater local treatment plant after a large-scale reconstruction. The main goal of the project is to create a closed water recycling system. The project provides for the collection and purification of all industrial waste and storm waters both from existing facilities of TAIF-NK and the Heavy Residue Conversion Complex under construction. The event was attended by Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov.

The large innovative project for the reconstruction of the plant for local treatment of TAIF-NK industrial wastewater meets the most stringent present-day requirements. The treatment facilities are fully automated; they use the multi-stage purification technology comprising a pre-treatment unit, a physical/chemical treatment unit, a biological treatment unit, a desalting unit, a dehydration unit, and a unit for injecting salt-containing effluents into the absorption wells to a depth of 1.8 kilometres.

The supplier of the main biological treatment equipment is the Hungary branch of the world's leading manufacturer General Electric. The total cost of the reconstruction project was about RUB 4 billion. Due to their environmental focus, the company's treatment facilities are of high social importance.
