KAMAZ and MOESK to create mobile self-propelled power storage device

1 June 2017, Thursday

PAO KAMAZ and PAO MOESK signed an agreement on strategic cooperation in the sphere of innovations within the framework of the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum. The agreement provides for the development of a mobile power storage device based on a cargo electric vehicle.

The document was signed by Deputy Director General and Development Director of KAMAZ Irek Gumerov and Director General of MOESK Pyotr Sinyutin.

According to preliminary calculations of power engineers, the capacity of such a power storage device for the needs of the power grid complex in the metropolitan area should be at least 1 MW. When incorporated into a power supply circuit, it would be possible to disconnect a consumer from the primary grid without fear of voltage surges. Such a device would be able to maintain sufficient quality and reliability of power supply for a sufficient time, in an environmentally friendly manner. In contrast, traditional diesel generator units pollute air and are additional sources of noise.
