The maintenance services of KAMAZ have refurbished the equipment continuously engaged in the production cycle.

The equipment was repaired during the May holidays. According to Engineering Centre Director and Chief Mechanic of KAMAZ Sergey Smolin, over 450 job types were performed at the plants during this time; more than 20 of them were critically important ones. In the production facilities of the cast iron foundry, the work was completed to replace sections of the monorails for transporting liquid metal, which was started last year. There, the maintenance technicians also put in order the mechanism for controlling the line of casting engine blocks and crankcase parts.

At the engine plant, within the framework of the Quality Transformation Programme, the repairs of the Renault automatic line have been carried out. Due to physical deterioration of the turntable drive, the equipment stood idle for more than seven years. At the forge factory, the refurbishment was completed on the LZK-6.300 press, where a wide range of axle gears is stamped.

Another important area of work is improving security. Experts and workers from the Department of Special Vehicles and Transport have inspected and repaired cranes and crane beams in the KAMAZ plants. Within a few days, seven lifting devices were put in order, and a total of 80 metres of crane runways were inspected.
